The Stuff-A-Bus annual food drive is coming up soon, November 21-23. The radiothon at Georgetown Square will be collecting non-perishable canned foods and personal care items such as diapers, OTC medicine, diapers, shampoo, soap, etc. Items will be collected each day from 5:30am-7pm. Donations will also be accepted in front of Rustic Hutch @ Coldwater and Dupont Rds, at Jefferson Pointe and at Midwest Federal Credit Union on Bluffton Road in Waynedale.
As many of us already know, personal care items can be easy to pick up super cheap or free. I purposely buy extra for donation, and this is a close, easy way to give back to the community. If you're inspired, keep this in mind as you do your grocery shopping the next few weeks--with Holiday food sales I bet you could score some great donation items very inexpensively or free!
There are also volunteer opportunities to man the buses, help unload buses and sort food items after the drive is over. You can e-mail jim@associatedchurches.org for more details. The holidays are always a reminder to me to embrace the good life I have and pass that on, even if it's in a small way.
